Extensively upgraded and now operated by the UK-based Golden Eagle Luxury Trains, the Golden Eagle Danube Express boasts new Superior Deluxe Cabins (93 sq. ft.) with two full-size picture windows, complementing the train’s 83 sq. ft. Deluxe Cabins.

After-hours Schönbrunn Palace visit

An Imperial Reception & after-hours tour at Schönbrunn

Your special experience at Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace – the opulent, 1,441-room Baroque summer residence of the Habsburg royals – begins with an Imperial Reception at the Gloriette pavilion, perched on a hill overlooking the palace’s magnificent gardens. Then enjoy an after-hours tour of the palace’s Imperial Apartments, revealing the residential suite of rooms occupied by Emperor Franz Joseph and his wife Elisabeth (popularly known as “Sisi”) – including the bedroom furnished in the Blondel style for the imperial couple at the time of their 1854 wedding, but only used during the early years of their marriage, and the Rococo Revival salon where Empress “Sisi” received her visitors – plus other royal apartments.

Private concert at Como Cathedral

Exclusive private organ concert at Duomo di Como

Considered the last Gothic cathedral constructed in Italy, Como Cathedral (Duomo di Como) took nearly four centuries to build, from 1396 to 1770, when its Rococo cupola was completed over its Renaissance-era transept. The massive facade on its west front, built during the latter half of the 15th century, is dominated by a great rose window flanked by statues of the notable Romans and Como natives (not to mention uncle and nephew), Pliny the Elder and Pliny the Younger. The cathedral’s magnificent interior, following a Latin Cross floorplan, is the grand setting for Tauck’s exclusive private organ concert.
