Private Reagan Library tour and lunch

Day 3

Enjoy a private guided tour & lunch at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum

Perched on a hilltop surrounded by sweeping vistas of the Simi Valley, the mountains, and the Pacific, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum are dedicated to the life and times of the 40th President of the United States and former Governor of California. On your private visit to the complex (which includes lunch), you’ll see a full-size replica of the Oval Office as it appeared during Reagan’s White House years; an exhibit on the Berlin Wall, featuring parts of the wall itself; and the actual Air Force One aircraft – tail number 27000 – which flew President Reagan and six other US presidents.

A day in Yosemite National Park

Day 9

After a tour with a naturalist, explore Yosemite National Park as you please

Few people but the Ahwahneechee had ever seen Yosemite Valley before the 1850s, when Gold Rush explorers and prospectors began to bring back reports of a “new” wilderness of peerless beauty with waterfalls, lakes, meadows, magnificent trees, and sculpted granite cliffs soaring like a Gothic cathedral. Today, that wilderness is Yosemite National Park... and some of the most famous rock formations in the world are here, like El Capitan and Half Dome... not to mention scenic overlooks that are just as renowned. After a naturalist guide takes you on a walking tour of the “habitat” of your inside-the-national-park hotel's grounds, you’ll have a whole day to enjoy the treasures of Yosemite just as you wish.

The Majestic Yosemite Hotel

Nights 8 and 9

Stay at a National Historic Landmark in the heart of Yosemite National Park

A stone-and-timber "castle" in the heart of Yosemite Valley, The Majestic Yosemite Hotel – formerly known as The Ahwahnee – is a masterpiece of rustic National Park architecture, built in 1927 with its unique Yosemite National Park environment in mind, from its rough cut granite blocks and its exposure to the sun (for natural heating) to its views of iconic sights, like Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, and Glacier Point. A favorite film location and a magnet for presidents, royalty and celebrities, the hotel’s long and illustrious history have made it a National Historic Landmark.

From our arrival through ten wonderful days of scenic beauty, first class accommodations, and an outstanding Tauck Director, we experienced nothing but joy.
