Private recital at St. Fin Barre's Cathedral

Day 3

Attend a private recital in the triple-spired, Gothic Revival St. Fin Barre's Cathedral in Cork

The magnificent, three-spired St. Fin Barre's Cathedral in the Irish city of Cork looks every bit like a grand Gothic cathedral from the medieval era, but it's actually a Gothic Revival masterpiece designed in the 19th century by English architect William Burges, and completed in 1879, on a site connected with Cork's patron saint, the 6th-century abbot Finbarr of Cork. But this 19th-century cathedral is no less majestic than its medieval counterparts – it's adorned by more than 1,200 sculptures inside and out, including gargoyles – and is a fitting setting for a private musical recital for Tauck guests only.

Cooking class & lunch at Ballyknocken House

Day 3

A class & lunch at Ballyknocken House & Cookery School

Situated on a 280-acre farm within an hour of Dublin in the little village of Glenealy in County Wicklow, Ballyknocken House is a Victorian farmhouse and the childhood home of Irish celebrity chef, TV host and food writer Catherine Fulvio – and is now home to Ballyknocken House & Cookery School, owned and managed by Catherine, who takes pride in her family's traditions spanning over a century in County Wicklow. During your visit, you'll enjoy a staff-taught private class for Tauck guests only in Ballyknocken's award-winning, state-of-the-art cooking school (converted from the farm's old milking parlor), as well as a delectable lunch.

Dromoland Castle

Nights 1 and 2

Live the royal life for two nights at Dromoland Castle, ancestral home of the O'Briens

Spend two nights at one of the most famous castles in Europe. This was the ancestral home of the Dromoland O'Briens, who were the Kings of Thomond and whose lineage goes back 1,000 years to Brian Boru, the only High King of Ireland. From your first glimpse of Dromoland and its enchanting lake, as you pass through the castle gates, you'll fall under Dromoland's spell. Under glittering antique chandeliers, descend grand staircases and meander through elegant hallways and beautifully furnished rooms. The decor is just as you imagine a castle should be... plush, sink-in sofas in front of large, ornate fireplaces with blazing log fires. And that's only the beginning...

We knew we were in for a special experience when we checked into our first hotel, Dromoland Castle. The entire vacation was pure pleasure and stress-free.
