This was our Trip Of A Lifetime. A luxurious, delightful, beautiful experience. From start to finish, our experienced, dedicated and low-key tour director deftly managed all details of the tour with enthusiasm and wit. Our first tour, now the benchmark against which all other tours will be judged. Weather, camaraderie- wonderful!!
Most Memorable Moment:
The explosion of cherry blossoms at Kanazawa ties with the Tea Ceremony and the surprise sightings of Fuji-san--all incredibly moving. Recommend the Maiko/Geisha Dance and Games be included at the Farewell Dinner--would leave a refined, intimate look at the Japanese culture instead of a distorted and sad quasi-Sumo demonstration. Nix Nikko Hotel.
We joined this tour straight after enjoying our tour of Indochina which was great. The contrast on arriving in Japan was fascinating with everything and everyone so ordered and everywhere so clean. We were lucky to hit the best week for the Sakura blossom and also to have good weather with many views of Mount Fuji. Our TD Bill made it great fun!
Most Memorable Moment:
All of it! The whole experience in the Hakone hotel and museums, the Onsens, especially in the mountain Ryokan; All of the gardens were spectacular, especially in Kanazawa; Kyoto was special and everywhere the blossoms! The variety and exquisite presentation of the food we were given was memorable and our introduction toJapanese food was fabulous
