Travel Updates

Travel Updates will keep you informed on the operating status of tours or cruises by destination, and provide up-to-date information on our travel policies. To learn about Tauck’s universal vaccination requirement and destination-specific COVID policies, please visit our COVID-19 Travel Requirements page.

Tauck is open for travel! We are thrilled to be operating more than 80 different tour or cruise itineraries across the globe since February 2021. The destinations listed below are among those with travel status updates due to COVID-19 that may impact your travel plans.

Tour & Cruise Status by Destination

All tours and cruises are operating.

All tours and cruises are operating.

  • Austria/Germany: Unfortunately based on recent COVID-19 regulations announced in both Austria and Bavaria, Germany on November 19th, we are unable to operate our Danube holiday river cruises as planned. As a result of the current lockdown in Austria and the cancellation of all Christmas markets throughout Bavaria, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all 2021 departures of Christmas Markets Along the Danube and Holiday Magic: Danube Family River Cruise. Please note we do not anticipate these temporary measures will have any impact on our Danube cruises in the spring.

  • Patagonia: The land borders between Chile and Argentina remain closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, so we are not yet certain we will be able to operate our 2022 Patagonia tours. However, we are hopeful for good news in the coming weeks and are ready to operate should the border crossing open. We will provide a further update after December 1, 2022.

All tours are operating.

  • Israel and Jordan: We are delighted to announce that we will be operating our Israel and Jordan tours beginning in February 2022. All tours through December 31, 2021 remain cancelled.

At this time, we are unable to operate our itineraries due to current travel restrictions.

  • India: Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to operate our tours to India due to current entry restrictions. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to cancel affected trips to India through March 31, 2022. For all guests departing April 2022 or later, we will notify you before your final payment is due to confirm the status of your tour or cruise.
  • Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand: Unfortunately, we are currently unable to operate our tours to Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand due to current entry restrictions and operational challenges. As a result, we have had to cancel all tours through August 31, 2022. For all guests departing September 2022 or later, we will notify you before your final payment is due to confirm the status of your tour.

Although Australia is starting to open up its borders, we are unable to operate our itineraries within the current travel restrictions. Due to these challenges, all trips to Australia and New Zealand are cancelled through August 31, 2022. For all guests departing on September 1, 2022 or later, we will notify you before your final payment is due to confirm the status of your tour or cruise.

We continue to make every effort to provide the most up-to-date information on the status of your tour or cruise. However, please know that as we share the above plans, we recognize there are events outside our control that we cannot predict or prevent. While the above details may evolve over time, what won’t change is our commitment to doing everything possible to deliver the quality experience and peace of mind you expect when traveling with Tauck. We hope you will share this spirit of adventure with us as we hit the road once again.

Travel Policy Updates For Our Guests

Important Vaccination Policy Update

  • As our partners and the places we visit have increasingly required that all visitors be vaccinated, it has become clear that it is no longer possible to accommodate unvaccinated guests and provide the quality experience you expect from Tauck. Therefore, effective September 7, 2021, all guests ages 12 and over are required to be vaccinated and to carry proof with them, such as the CDC Vaccination Record Card, at all times while traveling with Tauck. There are no exceptions to this requirement, which is in place until further notice.
  • Additional information regarding all COVID-19 travel requirements can be found here.

Book With Peace Of Mind, assured that you’ll also have choices in the event Tauck is unable to operate your journey’s departure date. We’ll give you flexible options to travel on another 2021 or 2022 date – or, if you wish, on a different journey.

For travel scheduled for October 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021

  • Final payment for all scheduled July 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021 Tauck land tours and cruises is now due 60 days prior to departure, instead of our standard final payment terms. We have extended this date to enable you to make the best personal decision with regard to your planned trip as close to your scheduled departure date as possible.
  • All cancellation penalties will be frozen at the lowest tier and will not increase prior to your departure date. Under the terms of our standard cancellation policy, guests incur cancellation penalties based on tiered time periods, with fees increasing as the departure date draws near. Under our amended policy, cancellation fees will remain frozen at the lowest tier and will not increase prior to departure date. By freezing cancellation penalties, if you purchased Guest or Cruise Protection and cancel your trip, the cost of the Guest or Cruise Protection fee is Dreamsaved. If you did not purchase Guest or Cruise Protection, the cost of your deposit will be Dreamsaved. *In either case Dreamsaved, funds are available for you to use for future travel. Any other monies paid to Tauck towards the cost of the trip will be refunded. Any Dreamsavers funds already applied to a cancelled reservation will be reinstated.
  • If you cancel your booking within 60 days of departure: to offer additional peace of mind, Tauck has now lowered penalties for cancellation to the most lenient tier inside of final payment as referenced in the grid below. Any penalties assessed will be placed into a Dreamsaver account. Normally, those cancellation penalties would be completely forfeited. Flights booked through Tauck UK may have additional penalties.
