Old World Europe awaits on a Rhine River cruise

Tauck Exclusive – Evening at Schloss Ehreshoven

Enjoy an elegant dinner and tour at Schloss Ehreshoven

Built in the 14th century and later expanded in the grand style of a Baroque manor house, Schloss Ehreshoven is surrounded by gracious 18th-century French gardens and a castle park. For nearly a century the castle has been the heart of a charitable foundation whose main mission includes providing a home for unmarried aristocratic ladies without means in their golden years. Frequently used as a location for movies and TV shows, the Schloss provides an elegant setting for Tauck's exclusive cocktail reception and dinner, hosted by a member of the family.

A cruise on Amsterdam's canals

A unique perspective of Amsterdam as you cruise its canals

Amsterdam is a vibrant blend of the historic and the contemporary, from its medieval core and 17th-century canals to the rich cosmopolitan life of a 21st-century European metropolis. This is never more evident than on the guided boat cruise you'll take along the network of centuries-old, flower-rimmed waterways that flow through this nearly car-free city of gracious gabled mansions, lots of people on bikes, and more canals than Venice! It all makes for a refreshing perspective on the city.

I traveled the Rhine and Moselle in Fall and it couldn't have been a more beautiful time to be on the river. Even on gray days, the sights were terrific and sometimes truly breathtaking.

A wonderful experience. From the beautiful Consortium Hotel in Amsterdam we moved to MS Grace for a delightful cruise. Everything on Grace was exceptional, the tour guides on board were wonderful, the local guides were knowledgeable, back onboard every meal at either Compass or Arthur’s was wonderful.......

Most Memorable Moment:

Sitting on deck with a glass of wine as we watched Germany on one side and France on the other. Incredible sunrises and sunsets on the Rhine and the Moselle.

We had never been on a river cruise before so were happy that our expectations were met so nicely with this Tauck tour. We have traveled with Tauck before so we were pretty confident it would be great. The itinerary has many special stops where you can decide how much of an active day you are looking for. The service was excellent.

Most Memorable Moment:

Not sure I can pick one but I would encourage travelers to prepare for all kinds of weather. Beginning and ending were quite cool but the middle part was very hot and the AC is not like in the states. I like to dress for dinner but most of the guests did not. Castle dinner is not at all glamorous - no AC in old cow stable! But it was fun.
