    Once an imperial vacation spot where Roman emperors and their entourages spent their summers, the legendary island of Capri – situated across the Gulf of Naples from the city of Sorrento – has during more recent centuries become famous as a fashionable retreat for writers, artists, composers, and international celebrities. On your visit to this enchanted isle, you'll be chauffeured like a jet-setter across the island's famous clifftop roads in a private convertible car for sightseeing amidst Capri's picturesque towns and historic villas, lush garden terraces with panoramic views of the sea, and breathtaking rock formations along the coast.

    Explore the Aragonese Castle, a hilltop fortress linked by a bridge to the historic island of Ischia

    Occupying the summit of a rugged volcanic islet that today is connected by a causeway (Ponte Aragonese) to the larger island of Ischia, the imposing Aragonese Castle was originally constructed by Hiero I of Syracuse around 474 BC, employing two towers to control the movements of enemy fleets. About a century and a half later, the fortress was captured first by the Romans, and then by the Parthenopeans, and altered continuously throughout the centuries. During the 1400s, the first stone bridge linking the rock to the island of Ischia was built by Alfonso V of Aragon, who also fortified the fortress' walls to ward off attacks by pirates; you'll visit the well-preserved castle with a local guide.
